Title: Campsites II

With this sculpture Tarisse wanted to translate her ‘Campsites’ story into a 3D object. The choice to use metal is a reflection on the strength and longevity of the Australian Indigenous culture and the stories passed down over the centuries. The rust is a reflection of the age of the markings and long history of these stories.
Campsites
Australian Indigenous culture is well known for its nomatic lifestyle. Tarisse often reflects on the fact that her ancestors would constantly move from one campsite to another to find a better food & water source and for better shelter to suit the seasonal conditions.
